WARNING !  These logs come from an adult chatroom, they are not meant to be read by minors. If you are a minor, please don't go past this point and leave now !  Note that you will need a login and password (they are available from the Yum-Chat FAQ: link to the FAQ at the bottom of the chat welcome page) to get access to the logs, this is also a security measure so that people who are not Yum-Chat users can't get access to the logs and so that the contents of the logs can't be indexed by automatic search engines. By entering the login and password, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age and understand the conditions of use.

You will find here the public logs for Yum-Chat. Each log file covers a 8 hours period of time. Each log is named from the date and time it was started as follow:
 
chatlog_YYYYMMDD_HHMM.html
where: YYYY=year, MM=month, DD=day of the month, HH=hours (24 hours clock), MM=minutes.

The current logs are automatically updated at H+2', H being either 00H00, 08H00 or 16H00 (server time = UTC-5 in winter, UTC-4 in summer).

The archives are zipped files holding the whole collection of the logs from the chat opening date. There are two types of archives: the "official" ones which Mr Yum and Rodent made available to me so that I could put them here for your enjoyement, and the ones I made myself thanks to my logging script (to be found in the 'mine' directory of the archives), starting from February 2002 (with a few logs from January 2002). The logs are zipped together by month (official logs) or couple of weeks/decade (for mine). The archives in 'mine' prior to September 2002 are named following an old convention: DD_SSSS_EEEE.html where DD is the day of the first post, SSSS the first post timestamp and EEEE the last post timestamp (both in HHMM format).

Note: The public log files made out from my logging script do not contain any PM and were censored from the spammers posts (these posts are entirely removed) as well as from the posts of the players who don't want their prose to be made "public" (although anyone can read and log them from the chat itself...). In the later case, the RPer posts are replaced by a "Anonymous: ((censored on author request.))" OOC post, and the character name is replaced by "Anonymous" everywhere it appears in others posts. This is not the case with the official logs, where everything was kept "as is".

If you got a UNIX or UNIX-like operating system (e.g. Linux or *BSD), then you can log the chat by yourself using this script. It requires bash v2.04 (or later), wget, GNU awk, grep and date, as well as the usual UNIX tools (cp, rm, mv, head, tail, etc)...
